to statistics from the MLS (Multiple Listing Service), the number of
sales of single-family homes was down 28.57% - island wide - between
May 2008 and May 2009. Sales volume was down 30.99%
between May. '08 and '09. The median sales
price (island wide) of a single family home decreased from $705,000 in
May 2008 to $600,000 in May 2009 - a 14.89% decrease. The
Hanalei district
saw an 14.12% increase in median price from $850,000 in 5/08 to
$970,000 in 5/09 (there were 4 home sales in the Hanalei District in
5/09).
The
median
price of condominiums (island wide) decreased from $610,000 in May
2008
to
$330,000 in May 2009.
